For the front light, for example, and for the mudguards made from recycled PET. In addition, the new Pure Contact tires from Continental are made from sustainably sourced rubber. That may not sound like much, but it's a start. The Shimano XT components are the benchmark in terms of ease of use and reliable performance. And thanks to the comfortable, easily adjustable RockShox Paragon Gold air suspension fork, even the longest tour is a real pleasure. The integrated IC 3.0 luggage rack, mudguards, lights and a side stand add the finishing touches. The Kathmandu frame combines all the highlights typical of the series, but goes a little further. For example, the revised integrated luggage carrier IC 3.0 blends seamlessly and elegantly into our Acid mudguards. There is also a mount for a flat mount disc brake and a side stand on the rear wheel. The chassis owes its clean, tidy look to the pipe connections welded using the smooth welding process. So much for the looks. In terms of functionality, we equipped the rear triangle with a thru axle and opted for a tapered head tube for optimized stability and steering precision (even when fully loaded). And thanks to the cables running inside, the bike changes gears smoothly and the gears hardly need any maintenance. We have thought of everything - except for the toothbrush, which you will probably have to pack yourself.
